It’s easy to see why his green bean side dish is a staple of family dinners across the nation: We’ve combined the savory flavors of creamy mushroom soup; tender French cut green beans; and, of course, the signature crispy topping that we’ve made with crush croutons and a layer of melted Sargento® Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese - Fine Cut (or Sargento® Shredded Cheddar Jack Cheese) for optimal cheesiness and taste.

  • 2 pkg. (10 oz. each) frozen French-cut green beans, thawed, drained
  • 2 cups (8 oz.) Sargento® Shredded Cheddar Jack Cheese or Sargento® Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese - Fine Cut, divided
  • 1 can (10-3/4 oz.) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic pepper or seasoned pepper
  • 3/4 cup croutons, coarsely crushed
  1. Combine green beans, 1-1/2 cups cheese, soup, milk and pepper in large bowl. Pour into greased 8x8-inch pan.
  2. Bake uncovered in preheated 350°F oven 30 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and croutons. Bake 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
