You can get that pizza flavor you crave—even if you don’t have dough prepared—using this creative recipe. Top a French or Italian bread roll with your favorite pizza sauce, crumbled sausage and choice of savory toppings like pepperoni, mushrooms and Sargento® Shredded 4 Cheese Pizzeria for that authentic cheesy taste with every bite.

  • 1 (4 oz.) French or Italian roll, cut in half
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce
  • 1/4 cup cooked, crumbled Italian sausage
  • 1/2 cup (2 oz.) Sargento® Shredded 4 Cheese Pizzeria
  • 1/4 cup chopped pepperoni slices
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup thin green pepper strips
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced onions
  1. Lightly toast French roll halves. Place on baking sheet cut-side up. Spread pizza sauce over rolls; top with sausage. Sprinkle with cheese and any combination of pepperoni, olives, mushrooms, pepper strips or onions.
  2. Bake in preheated 350°F oven 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
