Treat yourself to these cute pita sandwiches filled with a blend of chopped celery, apples, chicken and perfectly flavored Sargento® Sliced Cheddar Cheese that’s not too sharp and not too mild. These make a great tasty meal for any time of day for anyone!

  • 2 cups chopped, cooked chicken
  • 1/2 cup unpeeled, diced apple
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1/4 cup light mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp. Dijon or spicy brown mustard
  • 4 6-inch whole wheat or white pita breads
  • 4 slices Sargento® Sliced Cheddar Cheese or Sargento® Sliced Colby Cheese, cut into halves
  • 8 romaine lettuce leaves
  1. Combine chicken, apple, celery, mayonnaise and mustard in medium bowl.
  2. Cut pita pockets into halves; open each pocket. Line each pocket with 1/2 slice cheese and one lettuce leaf. Fill pockets with chicken mixture.
