These Swiss burgers are exactly what you crave when you think ‘classic burger’: Tender ground beef patties with Sargento® Ultra Thin® Baby Swiss Cheese Slices melted on top along with fresh lettuce, tomato and your choice of condiments, all between a hearty bun.

  • 1-1/4 lb. ground beef chuck
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp. spicy brown mustard
  • 4 Kaiser rolls or onion hamburger buns, split
  • 8 slices Sargento® Ultra Thin® Baby Swiss Cheese Slices
  • 4 Boston lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices large ripe tomato
  1. Combine meat, salt and pepper, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Shape to form 4 patties, about 1/2-inch thick.
  2. Grill patties on preheated covered grill or in ridged grill pan, 5 minutes per side or until internal temperature is 160°F.
  3. Meanwhile, combine mayonnaise and mustard. Grill or lightly toast hamburger buns. Place lettuce and tomato on bottoms of rolls; top with burgers and cheese. Spread mayonnaise mixture over tops of rolls; close burgers.
