Cilantro Aioli Southwest Cheeseburger

  • 2 lb. ground chuck
  • 8 slices Sargento® Colby-Pepper Jack
  • 1 large jalapeno, thinly sliced
  • 2 avocados, sliced
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 2 cup vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp. lime juice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  1. Form ground chuck into 4 patties and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a medium bowl add Mayonnaise, garlic, cilantro lime juice and season with salt and pepper and set aside.
  3. In a medium place the sliced red onions , flour, cumin, chili powder and salt and pepper and toss to coat the onions.
  4. Heat a medium pan with oil and add onions shaking off excess flour and cook for 5 minutes or until golden brown and place onto a paper towel to soak up extra oil.
  5. Grill hamburgers 4-5 minutes on each side then place slices of cheese on top then place onto bottom of the bun. Place jalapeno, avocado and fried onions on top of burger. Spread cilantro aioli on top of top bun and place on top.
