This recipe makes it possible to create the most savory waffle batter out there. Your breakfast or brunch will be nothing short of a gourmet treat. Each waffle will have notes of chopped ham, chives, orange zest and more with a Sargento® Ricotta Cheese base. When served with a sweet marmalade or syrup, your waffles will steal the show!

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1-1/2 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup Sargento® Ricotta Cheese
  • 1 cup milk or half-and-half
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 cup (4 oz.) Sargento® Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese - Traditional Cut
  • 1 cup diced smoked ham
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives
  • Orange marmalade or maple syrup, warmed
  1. Mix flour, salt and baking powder in large bowl. In a separate bowl, thoroughly combine eggs, Ricotta, milk, butter and orange zest. Gently stir into flour mixture and fold in cheese, ham and chives.
  2. For each waffle, pour about 1/2 cup batter into preheated nonstick waffle iron. Bake about 3 minutes or until golden brown. Repeat with remaining batter. Serve with warm orange marmalade or maple syrup.
