Try this side dish to accompany your next meal. These cheesy mashed potatoes have a perfectly velvety texture thanks to Sargento® Shredded Double Cheddar Cheese. Garlic, spices and savory bacon bits add plenty more home-style flavor in every scoop.

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs. red potatoes
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 3/4 cup milk or half-and-half
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup real bacon bits
  • 2 cups Sargento® Shredded Double Cheddar Cheese
Directions
  1. Scrub potatoes and cut into 1-inch chunks. Place in a large saucepan, cover with cold water and bring to a boil over high heat. Add garlic cloves to water; reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are very tender, about 15 minutes.
  2. Drain potatoes and garlic; return to same pot and turn heat to low. Add milk, salt and pepper. Mash to desired to desired consistency with a potato masher. Stir in cheese and bacon just until melted.
