Chop up some delicious fresh red bell peppers along with onions and Kalamata olives and toss into a bowl of fresh romaine with Sargento® Shredded Reduced Fat Colby-Jack Cheese and diced ham for a wholesome salad that will satisfy your hunger with garden-fresh ingredients.

  • 6 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1-1/2 cups (6 oz.) Sargento® Shredded Reduced Fat Colby-Jack Cheese, divided
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup diced fully cooked ham
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pitted kalamata or ripe olives
  • 1/2 cup low fat croutons
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced green onion or chopped chives
  • 1/2 cup light vinaigrette or Italian salad dressing
  1. Combine lettuce, 1 cup cheese, bell pepper, ham, olives, croutons and green onion in large bowl.
  2. Just before serving, add dressing; toss lightly to coat. Transfer to serving plates; top with remaining 1/2 cup cheese. Serve with freshly ground black pepper if desired.
