Recreate the flavors of your favorite smokehouse barbecue joint in this easy-to-make saucy pulled pork sandwich topped with Sargento® Smokehouse Cheddar™.
Ingredients
2 tsp. olive oil or vegetable oil
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped celery
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 lb. prepared pulled pork
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
1/4 cup barbecue sauce
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 kaiser buns, split, lightly toasted
2 slices Sargento® Smokehouse Cheddar™ Cheese
Directions
Heat oil in skillet set over medium heat; cook onion, celery, garlic and chili powder for about 5 minutes or until vegetables are softened.
Add pulled pork, tomatoes, barbecue sauce and Worcestershire sauce to skillet; simmer, stirring occasionally, for 8 to 10 minutes or until sauce is slightly thickened.
Spoon mixture over bottoms of kaiser buns; top each with a slice of cheese. Cap with tops of buns.
