These tasty panini have rich savory flavors from the artisanal bakery bread exterior to the melted gooey Sargento® Sliced Gouda Cheese in the middle that’s surrounded by slices of smoky ham and a layer of apple butter before being toasted to golden perfection.

  • 4 slices sourdough or multi-grain bread
  • 4 tsp. butter, softened
  • 8 slices Sargento® Sliced Gouda Cheese
  • 4 oz. deli sliced smoked ham or turkey
  • 2 Tbsp. apple butter
  1. Spread butter over 1 side of each slice bread. Turn 2 slices over; top with 4 slices cheese, the ham, apple butter and remaining 4 slices cheese. Close sandwiches with remaining bread, buttered sides up.
  2. Cook sandwiches in a preheated panini maker or greased waffle iron until golden brown and cheese is melted, 3 to 4 minutes. (Or, sandwiches may be cooked in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, 3 to 4 minutes per side.)
