Melted white cheddar cheese, balsamic roasted cherries and dark chocolate join forces to create the perfect combination of salty and sweet.
8 slices sourdough bread
3 tbsp. butter, melted
12 slices Sargento® Reserve Series™ Aged White Cheddar
1 cup frozen dark cherries, thawed
1 tbsp. balsamic glaze
4 tbsp. dark chocolate, finely chopped
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. In a small baking dish, combine cherries and balsamic glaze. Roast cherries for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for 15 minutes.
Brush one side of each slice of bread with melted butter. Place 4 slices of bread buttered
side down on a flat surface. Top bread with 3 slices of cheese, 1 tablespoon of chocolate and 2 tablespoons of roasted cherries. Top with remaining slice of cheese. Place remaining slice of bread on top, buttered side up.
Pre-heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-low heat. Place 2 sandwiches in the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until bread is golden brown. Flip sandwiches and cook an
additional 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and cheese has melted completely. Transfer to a cutting board, cut in half and serve.
