Indulge yourself in a hearty sandwich that’s sporting a barbecue sauce- laden pork tenderloin hot off the skillet. With just a little salt and pepper and the tenderloin cut into neat slices, each sandwich is then prepared with Sargento® Sliced Mild Cheddar Cheese that will melt and bring all the components of this recipe together.

  • 2 tsp. olive oil or butter
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (14-16 oz.) pork tenderloin
  • 4 French rolls, split
  • 4 slices Sargento® Sliced Mild Cheddar Cheese
  1. Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion slices; cook 2 minutes. Reduce heat to medium; cook 12 minutes or until onions are tender, stirring frequently. Add barbeque sauce; cook 2 minutes.
  2. Season pork with salt and pepper. Place pork under preheated broiler 4 inches from heat; Broil 6 - 8 minutes per side or until pork reaches 160°F at center. Transfer to a cutting board; let stand 5 mintues.
  3. Cut pork into thin slices and add to onion mixture; cook 3 minutes. Fill rolls with barbecued pork mixture and cheese. Serve warm.
