Spicy Barbecued Chicken Pitas

These pitas make for a tasty meal of shredded chicken mixed with your favorite barbecue sauce and Sargento® Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese - Fine Cut. The warm whole wheat pita also includes sliced tomato and fresh crisp lettuce leaves.

  • 2 cups shredded or chopped cooked chicken
  • 1 cup (4 oz.) Sargento® Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese - Fine Cut
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 pita pocket bread rounds, preferably whole wheat
  • 4 leaf lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices tomato
  1. Combine chicken, cheese and barbecue sauce.
  2. Cut pita bread in half crosswise; open into pockets. Fill pockets with lettuce, tomato and chicken mixture.
