These cheese filled jumbo tots are a game winning choice for your next football party. Serve with prepared ranch dressing or your favorite dipping sauce.
Ingredients
20 oz. package refrigerated shredded hash browns, thawed and chopped
1 large egg, beaten
2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
2 green onions, finely chopped
1/3 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. Old Bay seasoning, divided
12-15 pieces Sargento® Snack Bites® Cheese Snacks
1 cup vegetable oil, for frying
Directions
In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients except cheese and vegetable oil.
Spoon about 2 tablespoons of mixture into the palm of your hand. Spread mixture flat, creating an even rectangle.
Place one Sargento® Snack Bites® Cheese Snack in the center of the potatoes. Close your hand, forming the potato around the cheese. Using both hands, form the potatoes into a cylinder, rotating it as you go, making sure no cheese is exposed. Place on a plate or small pan. Continue with remaining potato mixture and cheese.
Heat oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat to 325-350 degrees. Carefully place tots one at a time into the hot oil, making sure they don’t touch. Fry for about 3 minutes, rotating as they cook until deep golden brown.
Transfer fried tots to a serving plate. Sprinkle with additional seasoning if desired. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
