Upgrade your next bowl of mac and cheese by bringing in bite-size pieces of luscious lobster meat along with a pinch of cayenne pepper, dried thyme and Sargento® Shredded Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese mixed in with a buttery serving of penne noodles.

  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. finely minced onion
  • 4 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup seafood broth
  • 1 pinch dried thyme
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 16 oz. penne pasta, cooked according to package directions
  • 1 lb. cooked lobster meat, cut in bite-sized pieces
  • 1 3/4 (8 oz.) Sargento® Shredded Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese, divided
  1. In medium saucepan melt butter; add onion and cook until translucent. Add flour a tablespoon at a time and cook until smooth and bubbly. Add milk slowly, whisking constantly; add broth. Whisk all together and cook over medium heat until thickened.
  2. In large baking dish mix pasta, lobster, thyme, cayenne pepper and sauce. Add 1 cup cheese and stir.
  3. Top with remaining cheese and bake in 350°F oven 30 minutes or until bubbly .
