Make these burger patties at home with ground chuck beef with a little bit of Worcestershire sauce and seasonings for a deeply savory flavor and top each one with Sargento® Sliced Havarti Cheese. Then, simply place on buns and garnish with caramelized onions, condiments and juicy sliced tomatoes.

  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1-1/3 lbs. ground beef chuck
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 4 slices Sargento® Sliced Havarti Cheese, cut diagonally in half
  • 4 leaves Boston or romaine lettuce
  • 4 hamburger buns (multi-grain, sesame or whole wheat), split, grilled or toasted if desired
  • Coarse grained mustard, mayonnaise, sliced tomatoes
  1. Melt butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Separate onion slices into rings; add to skillet. Cover; cook 3 minutes or until onions are wilted. Reduce heat; stir well and continue cooking uncovered 10 minutes or until onions are tender and golden brown, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
  2. Meanwhile, combine meat, Worcestershire sauce and seasoned salt, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Form mixture into 4 patties about 1/2-inch thick. Grill patties, covered, over medium-hot coals or broil 4 to 5 minutes per side or until barely pink in center or longer to desired doneness. Top with cheese during last minute of cooking.
  3. Place lettuce on bottom of buns; top with patties, the onions and tops of buns. Serve with optional toppings as desired.
