Make yourself these perfectly cheesy baked grits with creamy fresh ingredients and fluffy eggs along with two perfect doses of Sargento® Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese - Fine Cut and Sargento® Shredded Swiss Cheese that come together to create the perfect balance of flavor.

  • 1-1/4 cups quick grits
  • 5 cups water
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
  • 1-1/2 cups (6 oz.) Sargento® Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese - Fine Cut, divided
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1-1/4 cups (5 oz.) Sargento® Shredded Swiss Cheese
  1. Cook grits in water according to package directions.
  2. Combine warm grits, butter, salt, pepper and garlic, if desired, in large saucepan; stir until butter is melted. Stir in 1 cup Cheddar cheese; let stand 15 minutes. Stir in eggs.
  3. Spoon half the mixture into greased 13x9-inch baking dish; sprinkle with Swiss cheese. Top with remaining mixture.
  4. Bake uncovered in 350°F oven 45 minutes; top with remaining Cheddar cheese. Return to oven, bake 10 minutes or until center is set and cheese is melted.
