New England Panini

Ingredients

  • 4 slices multi-grain bread
  • 4 tsp. butter, softened
  • 8 slices Sargento® Deli Style Sliced Vermont Sharp White Cheddar Cheese or Deli Style Sliced Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 4 oz. thinly sliced deli smoked turkey breast or smoked ham
  • 1/4 cup cranberry sauce or relish
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped pecans, toasted if desired (optional)

Directions

  1. Spread butter over 1 side of each slice of bread. Turn 2 slices over; top with 4 slices cheese, the turkey, cranberry sauce, pecans and remaining 4 slices cheese. Close sandwiches with remaining bread, buttered sides up.
  2. Cook sandwiches in a preheated panini maker or greased waffle iron until golden brown and cheese is melted, 3 to 4 minutes. (Or, sandwiches may be cooked in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat 3 to 4 minutes per side.)
