Cook onion and butter in small skillet over medium heat 9 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and golden brown; transfer to medium bowl.
Add baking mix, milk and cheese to bowl; mix until dry ingredients are moistened.
Drop heaping tablespoons of batter onto lightly greased baking sheet. Bake in preheated 425°F oven 10 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm or at room temperature.
